The International Whistlers Convention (www.whistlingiwc.com) has been a major contributor to my development as a professional melodic whistler. If you are a budding whistler, I recommend you make plans to attend this gathering. In 2007 over 40 performers whistled over 100 songs to a great audience. Over the years, this venue has challenged me to expand my repertoire and molded me to be a better entertainer. The songs I performed in 2007 to capture the highest awards were a specially arranged Dixieland version of "All of Me" where I whistled to a pre-recorded instrumental background provided by seven New Orleans based Jazz musicians and "The Concerto in C Minor-Allegro" by Vivaldi. |
